ANTHONY MATIS
Anthony is the General Manager – Strategic Engagement and Development for Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Prior to this appointment, he was a senior advisor across several established and start-up businesses. He has also worked extensively across Australia, Asia and New Zealand, working closely with education providers and businesses.
Anthony is passionate about helping raise awareness for bowel cancer prevention and has a strong connection to the cause.
“My father was diagnosed with bowel cancer some years ago and with early intervention, was able to seek the appropriate medical support that sees him fighting fit some years on now. However, his experience reminded me that had it not been for his personal circumstance, I would have potentially delayed screening, or worse, developed symptoms.
Some years on from this, I met Nick Lee where he shared Jodi’s story and I felt this was my calling – to get involved and support the amazing work that the JLF undertakes across Australia.”
Anthony served on the Federal Government’s Small Business Advisory Committee and Better Regulation Working Group and is a former member of Southern Cross University’s Council and Audit Committee.
Anthony has also served as an Adjunct Associate Professor for The Notre Dame University Business School and is a regular lecturer at many universities too. In addition to serving on the NSW Advisory board of the Jodi Lee Foundation, he is also a Pro Bono Advisor to the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Awards Program.
Anthony’s diverse experience includes roles in corporate service and audit, plus senior finance positions in industries such as fashion, health, public relations and advertising as well as holding several board positions.
He is passionate about career development and leadership, and this is demonstrated through his ongoing commitment through his time spent mentoring and coaching.
