Jess Trengove is an Olympic marathon runner, and a Commonwealth Games champion. She grew up in the country town of Naracoorte, south east of Adelaide, where her passion for athletics was ignited. Jess started to make an impact on the local SA running scene in her early twenties, and it wasn’t long before she was turning heads nationally.
Jess’ marathon debut was in 2012 in Nagoya, Japan. Not long after that she secured her spot on the Australian Olympic team and travelled to the London Olympic Games to compete in what was only her second marathon. Jess crossed the line in an impressive 39th place.
Sadly, Jess was never able to meet her Nana due to bowel cancer. Jess’s mission is to help us prevent this from happening to other families by raising awareness of how to reduce bowel cancer risk though screening, knowing the symptoms and leading a healthy lifestyle.
